Short answer: Almost any paper can cover a set-up box: plain gloss or matte colors, shiny foil papers, textured and embossed papers (like linen or leather-look), natural kraft, themed or patterned papers, or paper custom-printed with your own graphics.
What a “wrap” is
If chipboard is the skeleton of a set-up box, the paper is the skin. We call this paper the box wrap. It’s glued around the cardboard and folded over the edges, which is why set-up boxes have clean, finished edges.
Your main paper choices
- Plain gloss paper: Bright and clean. Comes in several shades of every major color.
- Plain matte paper: Soft, natural and elegant, also in many shades.
- Foil paper: Unmatched for elegance. Bright foils look clean and modern; dull foils look soft and delicate. Foils come plain or embossed, in many colors and finishes.
- Embossed or textured paper: Any paper or foil can carry a texture. Popular patterns include leather, linen and groove. Deeper patterns give a heavier feel; subtle ones feel delicate.
- Themed and patterned paper: Thousands of options, including birthday, Christmas, patriotic, animal, sports and baby themes, plus stripes, florals, polka dots, marbles and leathers. These give a custom look without the cost of custom graphics.
- Natural kraft: Pair natural kraft paper with natural chip cardboard for a fully recycled, earthy look.
- Custom-printed paper: We can print white paper with your logo, photos, or an exact color match when a stock shade isn’t quite right.

Mix and match the lid and base
Because a set-up box has two pieces, the lid and base can use different wraps, such as a printed lid on a solid-color base. You can also change the look of the inside: the exposed cardboard inside is white, black, chocolate or natural chip, or we can laminate a paper inside.
Add graphics on top
